Novel constraints on fifth forces and ultralight dark sector with asteroidal data

چکیده
Abstract We study for the first time possibility of probing long-range fifth forces utilizing asteroid astrometric data, via force-induced orbital precession. examine nine Near-Earth Object (NEO) asteroids whose trajectories are accurately determined optical and radar astrometry. Focusing on a Yukawa-type potential mediated by new gauge field (dark photon) or baryon-coupled scalar, we estimate sensitivity reach force coupling strength mediator mass in range m ≃ (10 -21 -10 -15 ) eV, near “fuzzy” dark matter region. Our estimated is comparable to leading limits from equivalence principle tests, potentially exceeding these specific range. The precession increases with semi-major axis small limit, motivating objects further away Sun. also demonstrate that tests particularly strong which approximately conserve principle. discuss future prospects extending our more than million asteroids, including NEOs, main-belt Hildas, Jupiter Trojans, as well trans-Neptunian exoplanets.

New Forces in the Dark Sector
We detect a weak unidentified emission line at E = (3.55 3.57) ± 0.03 keV in a stacked XMMspectrum of 73 galaxy clusters spanning a redshift range 0.01 0.35. MOS and PN observationsindependently show the presence of the line at consistent energies. When the full sample is dividedinto three subsamples (Perseus, Centaurus+Ophiuchus+Coma, and all others), the line is seen at> 3...

We examine the effects of photon-axion mixing on the CMB. We show that if there are very underdense regions between us and the last scattering surface which contain coherent magnetic fields (whose strength can be orders of magnitude weaker than the current bounds), then photon-axion mixing can induce observable deviations in the CMB spectrum. Specifically, we show that the mixing can give rise ...
متن کامل3D gravity data-space inversion with sparseness and bound constraints
One of the most remarkable basis of the gravity data inversion is the recognition of sharp boundaries between an ore body and its host rocks during the interpretation step. Therefore, in this work, it is attempted to develop an inversion approach to determine a 3D density distribution that produces a given gravity anomaly. The subsurface model consists of a 3D rectangular prisms of known sizes ...
متن کاملRadiative Screening of Fifth Forces.
We describe a symmetron model in which the screening of fifth forces arises at the one-loop level through the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking. We show that such a theory can avoid current constraints on the existence of fifth forces but still has the potential to give rise to observable deviations from general relativity, which could be seen in cold atom experiments.
